A Gentle Beginning for Your Baby

At Panda Daycare, we understand that choosing care for your baby is one of the most personal and emotional decisions you’ll make. Our Infant Program provides a calm, nurturing environment for children from six weeks to twelve months old. Each day is built around warmth, responsiveness, and trust, so babies can form secure attachments and explore the world safely.

Our caregivers follow each infant’s natural rhythms—feeding, sleeping, and playtime—while ensuring a consistent sense of comfort and familiarity. We take pride in offering a peaceful, home-like setting where your baby’s individual needs come first.

Why Quality Infant Care Matters

The first year of life lays the foundation for lifelong development. Responsive caregiving helps infants feel safe, loved, and ready to explore. When babies know their needs will be met, they develop confidence and curiosity—key ingredients for learning.

At Panda Daycare, we focus on:

Sensory experiences: Soft textures, soothing sounds, and safe objects stimulate curiosity and discovery.

Every touch, smile, and word helps your child build confidence in their new world.

Our Infant Care Environment

Our infant room is designed to be warm, peaceful, and safe. Each baby has their own crib or sleep space, and the environment is kept clean, sanitized, and free from overstimulation. Soft lighting, calm music, and comforting colors create a tranquil atmosphere.

We maintain a low caregiver-to-child ratio, ensuring that every infant receives personalized attention. Teachers respond promptly to cues for feeding, diaper changes, comfort, and play. The goal is to mirror your baby’s home routine as closely as possible.

Features of our infant environment include:

  • Safe sleeping areas that meet all state safety guidelines
  • Age-appropriate toys and soft play surfaces
  • Gentle music and sensory materials for exploration
  • Comfortable spaces for feeding and snuggles
  • Consistent daily routines for predictability and comfort

Our Infant Curriculum – Learning Through Connection

Babies are constantly learning, even before they can crawl or talk. Our curriculum for infants focuses on learning through connection, emphasizing responsive interactions and sensory exploration.

Each day includes:

  • Tummy time to build core strength and coordination
  • Gentle songs and stories that introduce rhythm, language, and tone
  • Simple art and sensory play like finger painting or exploring soft fabrics
  • Mirror play to encourage self-recognition
  • Outdoor time in the fenced yard or stroller walks for fresh air and natural sights

We observe and document developmental milestones—rolling, sitting, babbling, clapping—and share updates with families. These observations help ensure that each child is supported and celebrated as they grow.

Nutrition, Care, and Comfort

Nutrition and comfort are key parts of our infant program. We follow parent instructions carefully regarding feeding schedules, breast milk, formula, and food introductions.

Our approach includes:

  • Individual feeding plans that match your home routine
  • Clean, sanitized bottle preparation areas
  • Soft bibs, burp cloths, and baby-safe utensils
  • Comfortable positions for feeding and cuddling
  • Daily communication about appetite and growth

Diapering and hygiene are handled with attentive care and frequent changes to maintain comfort. We provide wipes, while families bring diapers and extra clothing.

Nap time follows each child’s personal rhythm. Cribs are arranged for safety, and infants are placed on their backs to sleep according to safe sleep practices.

Communication with Families

We believe that consistent communication builds trust and ensures continuity of care. Parents receive updates each day through our information board, which includes notes about feeding times, naps, diaper changes, and new milestones.

Teachers also share insights about development, emerging skills, and temperament—so you feel connected to your baby’s day even when you’re apart.

We welcome ongoing dialogue about your child’s preferences, routines, and any updates you’d like us to follow. Our caregivers see themselves as partners in your child’s first learning journey.

Outdoor and Sensory Exploration

Even the youngest learners benefit from time outside. When weather allows, infants enjoy fresh air and gentle movement outdoors—watching leaves sway, feeling soft grass, or observing neighborhood walks from their stroller.

These short, safe outdoor experiences help babies connect with nature while stimulating their senses. We also incorporate sensory play indoors—textures, colors, light reflections, and sound exploration—to encourage attention and wonder.

Safety and Cleanliness

Safety is our top priority. Our infant area is designed to meet or exceed Washington State child care licensing standards. Staff maintain CPR and first aid certifications, and equipment is inspected regularly for safety.

We sanitize toys and surfaces multiple times daily and use only non-toxic, baby-safe cleaning products. Access to the infant area is limited to authorized caregivers and parents.
