A Loving Start for Seattle’s Youngest Learners

Panda Daycare was founded with one purpose: to create a warm, family-centered environment where every child feels safe, valued, and loved. Located at 9734 4th Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98117, Panda Daycare provides nurturing care for children ages six weeks to three and a half years. Families appreciate our personal touch, small group sizes, and emphasis on the joy of learning through play.

Our philosophy is simple—children thrive when they feel secure, supported, and encouraged to explore at their own pace. Every song, story, art project, and outdoor walk is an opportunity to build confidence, curiosity, and connection. Whether your child is rolling for the first time, stacking blocks, or sharing with a friend, we celebrate each step forward with care and pride.

Our Mission and Philosophy

At Panda Daycare, we believe that early childhood is not about rushing milestones—it’s about guiding each child gently toward independence, empathy, and discovery.

Our mission is to provide consistent, compassionate care that nurtures the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. We help children build a love of learning by creating experiences that engage all the senses.

Our curriculum centers around:

Play-based learning: Exploration drives understanding. Sensory bins, art, music, and simple science activities allow children to experiment freely and learn through doing.

Social-emotional development: Through daily routines and group play, children learn empathy, cooperation, and communication.

Nature connection: We include gardening and outdoor exploration to spark curiosity about the natural world.

Family partnerships: Parents are a vital part of each child’s success. We communicate openly about progress, routines, and daily highlights to keep families involved and confident in their child’s care.

Our approach is guided by respect for every child’s unique rhythm. Infants receive one-on-one attention and soothing routines; toddlers engage in hands-on activities that build independence; preschool-aged children develop early literacy, self-help skills, and social confidence that prepares them for the next stage of learning.

Our Story

Panda Daycare grew from a deep passion for child development and the belief that families deserve reliable, loving care close to home. Established in 1991, we have cared for generations of Seattle families who value a calm, structured environment that feels like an extension of their home life.

Over the years, we’ve created a program that reflects the best of both worlds: the professionalism of a licensed childcare center and the intimacy of a home-based setting. Every space—indoors and out—is designed for exploration, safety, and comfort. Children play in a bright sunroom filled with natural light and age-appropriate materials. Outdoors, our fenced yard allows for safe movement, gardening, and nature-inspired activities that change with the seasons.

Our continuity of care means children stay with familiar caregivers from infancy through preschool readiness, building deep bonds and a secure attachment that fosters confidence and happiness.

Upholding state licensing standards and maintaining a professional, reliable program families can depend on.

We view every family as a partner in their child’s development. By working together—sharing information, celebrating milestones, and addressing challenges—we help children build the strong foundation they need to thrive in school and life.

Our Community and Values

Panda Daycare is proud to serve families across Seattle, particularly those in the Greenwood, Ballard, and Phinney Ridge neighborhoods. We’re part of a vibrant local community that values connection, sustainability, and lifelong learning.

Our daily routines reflect these values: gardening and caring for our pets teach empathy and responsibility; preparing simple, balanced meals reinforces healthy habits; outdoor play encourages appreciation for nature and movement. We’re not just a daycare—we’re a community built on trust, respect, and the shared goal of raising confident, kind children.
